Amazingly Affordable Solution For Business Web Sites
Trend Of The Future
This is an interesting trend which is likely to bring more competition online. Several companies have been hard at work creating easy environments for people to get their sites up quickly and affordably. While services such as the Site Build It suite offer a wealth of built in features, the price tag is still pretty intimidating to some people. These are likely the people who aren't sure whether a web site could do their business any good or not. Having to spend several hundred dollars may be more of a financial risk than they may be willing to take. Now the trend is to provide very affordable, complete packages at prices which are sure to catch people's attention. How low? How about starting at $5 a month?
Enter The Big Players Sam's Club has recently announced its Business Web Site service. Sam's Club is owned by Walmart, the largest retailer in the world. Their Business Web Site service offers all of the necessary essentials to get started including the hosting, email addresses, site design (from templates). The business can then add options onto the basic package. Here's a graphic showing some of the available options:
Sam's Club is also offering customization of the web sites at various prices. This is an example of retailers focusing on providing the tools necessary to grab a significant portion of new internet business users. By reducing the learn curves and providing easy, fast solutions, they are likely to get some significant business. With prices starting at $5 a month, they are likely to get a lot of people's attention. Combine that with the exposure that Sam's Club and Walmart has... That is some powerful marketing which can be used to quickly grab a sizable share of this market. It will be an interesting new service for them. If anyone has experience using this new service, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. In particular I will be watching to see how well the sites perform for visitors as well as the search engines.
