I'm always keeping my eyes out for free programs to make things a little bit easier for me. Here's a one that will keep some handy important computer functions readily available to you

WinBar

WinBar is a free application which you can download from this site.

It creates a very handy tasbar at the top or the bottom of your screen.

This task bar gives you instant access to some very useful information. It has the following options and more:

• quickly change screen resolutions. This is very handy to see how your web site appears to people looking at it from 800x600 vs. 1024x768 etc
• volume control
• built in google search box
• site update notification (lets you know when a site has been updated)
• amount of free memory on your computer
• laptop battery life remaining
• new email notification
• network connection speed monitor
• Uptime indicator (time since you last rebooted)
• CPU usage
• Date/Time
• Alarm clock...

There are several other functions as well.

You can easily customize the look of the taskbar, including what modules you want to appear on it, the arrangement etc.

What I have found with the winbar is that it is saving me extra steps accessing various information that I use every day. Its definitely a handy little download, and best of all its free.
