Popin.. Floatin.. Flyin... Windows

Love them or hate them, there is no doubt that popup window advertising was very effective. I had used them successfully on other sites to help give my profits a very nice boost.

They are becoming much less effective now because of "popup window blockers" which are available with several browsers and even popular tool-bars like google and the alexa toolbar.

It didn't take long for someone to come up with a solution which as of this point, can't be blocked.

These are "popin" windows which have a distinct difference from popup windows.

The popup windows actually created a separate browser window to come up. This was typically done with javascript code which made it easy for popup blockers to disable.

The new popin windows do not create a separate window. Instead they create a new "layer" or window inside your current window.

As of yet the cure to these windows hasn't come around. It will be harder to block these popin windows because of how they work.

The problem is legitimate web sites use the same mechanisms to make their sites function so it may disrupt them.

Only time will tell...

So why buy them if you can do it for free?

That's a decision you need to make.

If you are thinking that popin windows are appropriate to your site, try the free version first. You are likely to see the value in them with increased sales or optins to your newsletter.

If you do find they are working, then perhaps you want to have more control over them.
