ONLINE VIDEO: One Of My Most Profitable Affiliate Tactics
Increasing Your Affiliate Commissions
In addition to the various projects I work on, I still promote other people's affiliate products. The reason is simple. It has continued to be a very nice profitable stream of income for me. Anyone promoting any sort of affiliate program would be interested in this tip. It is deceptively simple yet can pay off nicely.
The "Normal" Way Typically someone joining an affiliate program is provided with a link to the site that they are promoting. When someone clicks through and purchases, then you receive the commission. These affiliate links can appear in a variety of ways. If someone has a clickbank link, it will look something similar to: hop.clickbank.net/?yourid/theirproduct Other affiliate programs will have similar links. The problem is that it is pretty evident to someone about to click on it that it is an affiliate link. They may then go through the efforts to try and get around the link to deny you the commission.
A Solution That Works I have tried a variety of solutions to increase clickthroughs on links. Some have been more successful than others. One common work around I see is the redirection tactic. This simply makes some click on a link similar to: www.yoursite.com/affiliatepage This affiliate page then redirects them through an affiliate link to the site. This tactic works, but it still makes it pretty obvious that they aren't going to the site the normal route.
Taking The Redirect One Step Further
I save one technique for those programs that are really selling well. As mentioned, it is deceptively simple yet works very well. Instead of a simple redirect link, I register a domain name with the exclusive purpose of redirecting to the affiliate product. For example if someone had an ebook at audio-ebook.com, you could register the name the-audio-ebook.com You then configure your "site" to redirect anyone clicking on the-audio-ebook.com to be sent through your affiliate link to the real site. Now remember, there is nothing more to your site other than the name redirection. You don't even to have any content for the site or an account for the site itself.
How The Redirection Is Done
I created this short video to show you exactly how I do it using godaddy.com. Click the button below to watch the video.
