You need to be able to transfer your website files from your computer onto your webserver computer on the Internet. This is done using FTP (which stands for File Transfer Protocal).

Some high end HTML editors have an FTP function built in already, like Dreamweaver.

For most people, they need the use of a standalone FTP program.

The one that I have used when needed is the free WS_FTP_LE program from Ipswitch software.

The next page shows a video tutorial about using FTP. The video is 2.1mb in size and is encoded in Macromedia Flash.

If you try to view it and you don't have the Flash view installed, it will ask you to download the small plug which is free. Once this is done, the video will work for you. If you need to manually download the Macromedia Flash Player you can do it here.
